Hill Photographer, Don Verger, Arrested For Robbery In The Old Port

Eastern Promenade resident and noted landscape photographer, Donald Verger, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, December 31 for robbery at a hair salon at 151 Middle Street in the Old Port. The 60 year old Verger was released from Cumberland County Jail yesterday morning, on $10,000 bail. A court date of February 26 has been set.

The gifted Verger had shown his work at the North Star Café, Ember Grove Gallery, the original Hilltop Coffee Shop and elsewhere in the area. During the summer season he sold his art to cruise ship passengers on Commercial Street as well. Last month Verger participated in the annual MECA holiday show at the East End Community School.

Verger previously worked for the Audubon Society of Massachusetts where he developed educational programs for the Society, statewide.
