Are you wondering what the heck is going on up in Augusta regarding the Governor LePage’s budget plans and other issues on his agenda for the 126th Legislature? If so, you are not alone. This Saturday you will have an opportunity to get some answers to these and other questions you’ve been wanting to ask and didn’t know where to go to get answers.
Senate president Justin Alfond and State Senator Anne Haskell are co-hosting a community meeting on Saturday, February 23, in Portland. The meeting runs from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm at the Portland Public Library, 5 Monument Square. The public forum is intended to discuss the proposed two-year budget which Maine’s “Governor From Hell” has proposed.
“I am excited to meet with constituents and discuss the important work we are doing in the legislature,” said President Alfond, a Hill resident. “There is a lot at stake for Portland in the proposed Biennial Budget and it’s important the voices of Portlanders are heard.” “I look forward to hearing from Portland residents and dhaving a chance to share our concerns about the proposed budget,” added Senator Haskell. “This budget wil have a major impact in Portland. It should be an interesting meeting.”
Other state representatives will also be attending this meeting.
